Help write women back into Scotland’s history — and our future.
At Protests and Suffragettes CIC, we’re building a Scotland where the stories of suffragettes and women changemakers aren’t hidden footnotes but vibrant, public, and everywhere — in schools, museums, murals, and on the open web. Over the next three years, we’re scaling workshops, murals, creative commissions, and a national community that will reshape how women’s history is remembered, celebrated, and taught — ramping toward the 2028 Centenary of the Equal Franchise Act, which gave all women in the UK the right to vote.
We’re hiring a Business Development Lead to turn momentum into sustainable growth. If you’re a creative doer who loves turning relationships into revenue and purpose into partnerships, come build this with us!
Why this role matters
You’ll be the connective tissue between our mission and our markets — growing income streams that fuel direct social impact: more school resources in more hands, more murals on more walls, more communities equipped to tell their own stories.
Our vision, values and mission in action
- Vision: Women’s activism woven into Scotland’s cultural fabric.
- Mission: Inspire the next generation of changemakers by writing women back into history.
- Values: Collaboration, inclusion, rigorous research, beautiful design, and community co-creation.

What you’ll do
Grow our income streams

Develop and build lasting partnerships
- Map and develop partnerships with aligned corporations, schools, museums, HEIs, libraries, and national organisations, working alongside our Director.
- Create simple MOUs and keep our pipeline tidy and moving.
Make the marketing sing and keep the wheels turning
- Deliver a lightweight, consistent marketing plan for shop and workshops, including newsletters, social, partner mailouts, and campaigns around Women’s History Month and the winter holiday season.
- Craft compelling proposals, one-pagers, and decks that balance impact and income.
- Keep CRM, orders, invoices, and calendars ship-shape.

- A confident self starter, expanding our networks and helping us connect with influential partners.
- Comfortable asking for the sale and tracking a tidy pipeline.
- Organised and proactive: you love lists, calendars, CRMs, and closing loops.
- A clear communicator who can inspire in meetings, write punchy copy and great emails.

- Learning and growth: access to partners and networks across culture, education, and social enterprise.
- A kind, collaborative team culture with brilliant volunteers and national partners.
